Director of Medicine (owner)
Dr. Lindsay Nicholson, DVM, Director of Medicine (owner). Dr. Nicholson graduated valedictorian in her class from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Science in 2014. Dr. Nicholson has spent a decade practicing medicine and is an accomplished general practitioner, internist, and surgeon. She was accepted to an internship with North Houston Veterinary Specialists (now Blue Pearl) in Spring, Texas from 2014-2015. Prior to starting True Animal Vet, she joined Cole Veterinary Hospital as an Associate DVM in Spring, Texas in 2015. Dr. Nicholson and her husband, Andrew Nicholson, have resided in The Woodlands, Texas since 2012. They have two young boys and are proud to be members of The Woodlands community.
Director of Urgent Care (owner)
Dr. Kathryn Salcetti, DVM, Director of Urgent Care (owner). Dr. Salcetti handles primary case management, critical care, complicated wound management, advanced imaging such as abdominal ultrasound and echocardiograms, and other general veterinary procedures. She is an official mentor for incoming clinicians and active in continuing education for the community. She is a native of The Woodlands and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Dr. Salcetti graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Science in 2016 and was previously a Senior Emergency Clinician for Blue Pearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital in Spring, Texas.
Dr. Charity Stone brings 15 years of veterinary experience in general practice to True Animal Vet. Dr. Stone graduated with her DVM from Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She has been certified in veterinary acupuncture since 2012 and combines modern medicine with traditional eastern approaches to achieve positive outcomes for patients. She is also a USDA-accredited veterinarian and can issue Certificates of Veterinary Inspection for qualified patients. Dr. Stone and her husband live outside of Conroe with their three children. In addition to dogs and cats, she also cares for horses.
Dr. Kathleen Carroll was born and raised in Destrehan, Louisiana, where her passion for veterinary medicine began. She completed her undergraduate studies in Animal Science and Technology at Louisiana State University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.
Dr. Carroll brings experience in Small Animal Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Soft Tissue Surgery to True Animal Vet. Her career is marked by a commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care and building strong relationships with her clients. She is particularly focused on providing comprehensive care to enhance the overall quality of life for her patients.
Before joining True Animal Vet, Dr. Carroll served as an Associate Veterinarian at Camino Al Norte Animal Hospital in North Las Vegas, where she honed her skills in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care. Her background also includes experience in emergency and critical care, which has equipped her with the skills to manage complex cases.
Dr. Nathan Bodnar, DVM, is a primary care and emergency veterinarian with a special interest in toxicology and endocrine emergencies. He earned his DVM from the University of Saskatchewan in 2007 and completed an emergency and critical care internship at Dove Lewis Animal Hospital in Portland. Dr. Bodnar has extensive experience in critical care and complex cases, having worked previously as a senior emergency clinician at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Spring, TX.
Dr. Ben Shepard, DVM, is an emergency veterinarian with a strong focus in critical case management and surgery. After earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 2019, he worked at the Animal Emergency Clinic of Conroe, TX, for three years, followed by two years at Flathead Pet Emergency in Kalispell, MT. Dr. Shepard is dedicated to delivering expert care in high-stakes emergency cases.
Dr. Codee Hurst completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University, College Station, and further specialized with an internship in Small Animal Medicine & Surgery at North Houston Veterinary Specialist. Dr. Hurst brings valuable experience from her time as an emergency veterinarian at Blue Pearl, Spring, where she managed critical cases with precision and care. Her background also includes extensive work in relief medicine, providing her with broad exposure to both general practice and emergency situations. This experience makes her adept at handling a variety of medical challenges with confidence and expertise. At True Animal Vet, Dr. Hurst is committed to delivering excellent veterinary care, leveraging her solid training and diverse experience to benefit every patient she treats.
